Established on October 1st, 1920, any person shall be eligible for membership in the American Legion who is or was a member of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Air Force of the United States during time of War or Conflict. This includes the Sons and Daughters of those veterans of the American Legion, or Ladies Auxiliary Members.
The purpose of the American Legion is to support all Veterans. We associate ourselves together for the following purpose: To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. To preserve the memories and incidents of our association in the Great Wars. To promote peace and good will on Earth. To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy. To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
